Tradition bearer of Slovak naive art in Serbia, 53rd solo exhibition
    (September 1 – 7, 2015)

The Center for Intangible Cultural Heritage of Serbia has inscribed Slovak naive art painting in Serbia on June 18, 2012 in The National Registry of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of the Republic of Serbia. The Slovak naive art painting list is comprised of 63 painters.

Jan Bačur was born in the Slovakian village of Padina 10 km away from Kovačica, his recent place of residence. The fact that his original place of work was outside the center of Slovakian naïve art was initially thought of as a disadvantage, but after 60 years of his developing and improving naïve art it turned out to be beneficial.
