This special event carries even greater symbolism as it takes place in the year when the Ethnographic Museum is preparing to celebrate a major anniversary—125 years of its existence, which will be marked next year. For that reason, the number of passports distributed was chosen as a symbol of connecting new generations with the museum’s rich heritage.
“The Cultural Passport ‘Grow Up with Culture’ represents a symbolic ticket into the world of tradition, creativity, and family values. It tells the youngest that the museum is their place—a space where the past is preserved and the future is created. With these passports, accompanied by adults, children can visit the museum an unlimited number of times for free over the course of one year,” said the Director of the Ethnographic Museum.
We would like to remind you that in January 2023, the Ethnographic Museum launched the socially responsible campaign “Cultural Passport – Born with Culture,” which allows newborn babies and their families an unlimited number of free visits to exhibitions and programs until the child’s first birthday. In this way, the museum sends a message that culture belongs to everyone from the very beginning of life.
“We want every child to feel that they are part of the museum—to discover within it their own world, roots, and inspiration. The museum is a place where family traditions are nurtured and new values are created,” Krstić emphasized.
The Director added that awarding Cultural Passports to first-graders once again confirms how important it is for children to grow up surrounded by knowledge, beauty, and curiosity. “Let these passports be their first step into the rich world of culture and toward lasting smiles,” he noted.
