The Ethnographic Museum, in collaboration with Radio Belgrade 2, is organizing a concert by the Bistrik Vocal Workshop – Bilja Krstić, which will take place on March 6 at 6:00 PM. This is part of a series of free traditional music concerts that the Museum offers to its visitors.

The concert is held to mark the 125th anniversary of the Ethnographic Museum and the 40th anniversary of the radio program “Od zlata jabuka”, one of the most significant radio shows dedicated to traditional music and cultural heritage.

This event represents a meeting of a cultural institution and the media in a shared mission to preserve intangible cultural heritage. The audience will have the opportunity to enjoy authentic interpretations of traditional songs, performed by the Bistrik Vocal Workshop with long-standing dedication and a contemporary stage expression.

Marko Krstić, Director of the Ethnographic Museum, emphasizes that the Museum’s 125 years provide an opportunity to highlight the importance of living heritage that continues through song. The Bistrik Vocal Workshop concert, he notes, symbolizes a bridge between past and present. Through her many years of research, Bilja Krstić significantly contributes to the preservation and contemporary interpretation of traditional music, and her performances offer a living artistic testimony that communicates with modern audiences.

Ranko Stojilović, Chief Editor of Radio Belgrade 2, recalled that the program “Od zlata jabuka” has nurtured cultural and educational content for decades. Forty years of continuous broadcasting testify to the enduring public demand for high-quality programming dedicated to original music and cultural heritage.

The program’s editor, Dragana Marinković, highlighted that the show serves as a meeting place for artists and listeners who share a love for traditional music. Celebrating the anniversary in the space of the Ethnographic Museum symbolically connects radio and museum efforts in preserving cultural identity.

Bilja Krstić stated that performing at the Ethnographic Museum holds special emotional value, as it is an institution that safeguards the identity and heritage of the people. Traditional songs carry powerful stories and emotions that connect generations, and participating in the celebration of two major anniversaries is a particular pleasure.

The concert is free for all visitors, and tickets have already been distributed.

We invite media representatives to attend this significant cultural event and, through their presence, enhance the celebration of these major anniversaries dedicated to tradition, music, and cultural heritage.
