The Ethnographic Museum in Belgrade and Manak’s House are once again organizing “Manak’s Cultural Summer 14,” a cultural event taking place from August 21 to September 17, 2026, bringing together lovers of music, theatre, poetry, film, and literature.

The programme will take place in the unique setting of the courtyard of Manak’s House, located at the corner of Gavrila Principa and Kraljevića Marka Streets, in a space that brings together cultural heritage, tradition, and contemporary artistic expression.

Over the course of almost a month, audiences will have the opportunity to attend concerts spanning a variety of musical genres, theatre performances for children, poetry and literary evenings, as well as a film screening.

The event will open on Friday, August 21, at 8:30 p.m. with the concert “A što ćemo ljubav kriti”, dedicated to sevdalinka music, featuring Biljana Petković, Vesna Dimić, and Zoran Veljković.

A special segment of the programme is “Pozorištance na Đumruku”, intended for the youngest audiences. Children will have the opportunity to see the performances “Mačke naopčke – priča o hrabrosti”, “Ezopove poučne basne”, “Nove avanture leteće Skaj i Spajdermena”, “Začarano kraljevstvo”, “Patrolne šape u akciji”, and “Doživljaji Petra Pana.”

The music programme offers a rich variety of genres, ranging from blues, jazz, and evergreen hits to old-town music, romance songs, and folk music, as well as film music, French classical music, rock ’n’ roll, rockabilly, jazz fusion, funk, and opera.

The programme will also feature numerous musical and poetry evenings, including “Pamtim samo sretne dane,” a tribute to Arsen Dedić and Gabi Novak; “Dva lica ljubavi,” dedicated to love poetry and ex-Yugoslav songs; and “Seti se Barbara,” an evening of French poetry and French classical music.

As part of “Stihovi na Đumruku,” poetry evenings with Nemanja Dragaš and Stojan Srdić will be held, while the “Knjiga na Đumruku” segment will feature the literary evening “Valterova beležnica” by Marko Mil. Popović.

A special place in the programme is reserved for “Kino Manak,” which will feature a screening of the Greek film “The Shells Told Me” on September 6, directed by Giorgos Louridas.

The closing programme will feature concerts dedicated to a variety of musical styles, including Italian arias, pop, rock, and soul, as well as ethno music, gypsy jazz, and swing.

“Manak’s Cultural Summer 14” continues the tradition of bringing artists and audiences together in one of Belgrade’s distinctive cultural and historical settings, offering visitors the opportunity to enjoy art on summer evenings in the authentic surroundings of Manak’s House.
