The Ethnographic Museum in Belgrade opened the exhibition "Serbian calligraphy - Cyrillic culture"

On the occasion of the Day of Serbian Statehood – Sretenje, on February 14 at 2:30 p.m., the Ethnographic Museum in Belgrade officially opened the exhibition “Serbian calligraphy – Cyrillic culture”.

Speakers at the opening:

  • Milica Đurđević Stamenkovski, Minister for Family Care and Demographics,
  • Ivan Stratimirović, representative of the Association of Citizens “Cyrillic culture”.

After the ceremonial program, a demonstration workshop of calligraphy was held, led by fine artist Danica Veselinović. Visitors had the opportunity to get to know the skills of traditional calligraphy and try this art for themselves.

The exhibition presented the works of the most prominent authors in the field of Serbian calligraphy, evoking the beauty and importance of the Cyrillic alphabet as a cultural heritage. This event was a wonderful opportunity to jointly celebrate and preserve the beauty of the Cyrillic alphabet, as part of our cultural identity.

The exhibition is open until February 18, and entrance to the Museum is free on February 15 and 16 on the occasion of the Serbian Statehood Day.

Visit us and let’s preserve the beauty of the Cyrillic alphabet together!
