The exhibition UNFORGOTTEN, featuring traditional jewelry from the Memorial Collection of Hristifor Crnilović and contemporary jewelry by artist Ivana Stanković, will open on Wednesday, November 26, at 7 p.m. at the Leskovac Cultural Center.

The exhibition will present a selection of Serbia’s cultural heritage preserved by the Ethnographic Museum in Belgrade, including pieces from its jewelry collection, goldsmithing tools, as well as manuscript materials on the craft of goldsmithing collected and preserved by Hristifor Crnilović in his memorial collection housed in the Manak House.

The traditional jewelry, shaped by centuries, serves as a source of inspiration for artist and collaborator of the Ethnographic Museum Ivana Stanković, creator of contemporary jewelry made using the filigree technique.

In the UNFORGOTTEN jewelry collection, Ivana unravels silver threads and, through the traditional filigree technique, transposes 19th-century ornamentation into contemporary jewelry design. Through the intuitive sensibility of a graphic artist and filigree craftswoman, Ivana Stanković and Milena Đurica, Senior Curator of the Ethnographic Museum, bring together past and present.
