On Friday, February 21 at 6 p.m., the promotion of the monograph Heritage of Kosovo-Metohija: the architecture of Šar mountain and the city of Prizren, written by Dr.Nebojša Gadžić, will be held in Manak’s house. This monograph represents a significant scientific research contribution in the field of history of architecture and folk architecture in the area of Kosovo and Metohija.
The book explores in detail the old rural and urban architecture of Šar planina and Prizren, analyzing the factors that influenced its origin and specificities. Dr.Gadžić emphasizes the role of natural conditions, building traditions and culture of living, which is shaped under the influence of different environments.
The monograph offers comprehensive typological studies, accompanied by rich documentation, which contributes to a better understanding of the genesis and development of the traditional architecture of this region. This publication aims to highlight the exceptional importance of architectural heritage in the history and cultural identity of our people, but also to be a valuable resource for students and all those interested in the cultural heritage of Kosovo and Metohija.
