On Saturday, November 7, 2026, at 6:00 PM, Manak’s House (5 Gavrila Principa Street) will host a presentation of its Calligraphy School, offering visitors an opportunity to learn about the courses and enroll in the program.

The presentation will explore the historical development of calligraphy, the art of beautiful handwriting, and its significance in contemporary artistic expression. Special attention will be given to the Serbian Cyrillic script, its calligraphic forms, and its place in the modern world.

The Calligraphy School is led by Danica Veselinović, Master of Fine Arts, and the training program is structured into three levels: beginner, intermediate, and advanced.

Calligraphy School Program

Beginner Level

Participants will learn the fundamental principles and techniques of calligraphy, focusing on the traditional Cyrillic ustav script. The program covers the formation of letters, words, and sentences, as well as the creation of a final calligraphy piece.

The course lasts one month and consists of four three-hour sessions, totaling 12 hours of instruction.

Intermediate Level

The program introduces participants to a new style of Cyrillic calligraphy, the composition of calligraphic texts, and traditional artistic techniques for decorating manuscripts. Participants will apply their acquired knowledge by independently creating a final calligraphy piece.

The course lasts three months, with one three-hour session per week, totaling 36 hours of instruction.

Advanced Level

At the advanced level, participants will further develop their calligraphy skills by studying an additional Cyrillic script, working with various writing tools and materials, and exploring contemporary approaches to artistic expression through calligraphy. The program also includes the independent creation of final calligraphic works.

The course lasts three months, with one three-hour session per week, totaling 36 hours of instruction.

The presentation and enrollment will take place on November 7 at 6:00 PM at Manak’s House. Admission to the presentation is free.
