The exhibition “Exceptional Textiles of Mexico”, organised in cooperation with the Embassy of Mexico in Serbia on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Mexico and Serbia and the 125th anniversary of the Ethnographic Museum, offers a unique opportunity to discover the richness and diversity of Mexico’s traditional textile culture.
Through 34 sets of authentic traditional garments and representative textile objects from the collection of the National Museum of Popular Cultures of Mexico, visitors can explore the exceptional craftsmanship of handmade textiles, traditional weaving and embroidery techniques, as well as the cultural heritage of numerous Indigenous communities of Mexico.
We invite all interested visitors to take advantage of the extended exhibition period and visit this remarkable exhibition, which highlights the richness of Mexico’s intangible cultural heritage, traditional textile techniques, and the artistic expressions of numerous Indigenous communities.
The exhibition will be open to visitors until 30 June 2026.
